June 2021 Enewsletter
A note from our Executive Director
2020 and 2021 have been busy, scary, and exciting.
We’ve been busy managing both the expansion project and the impact (and adjustment) COVID has had on our personal and professional lives. On May 17th, we were able to share our joy with clients – joy at welcoming them back for in-person sessions, and the joy of sharing the new 18,500 sq. ft. addition with them.
As summer nears, so too does the completion of our Phase-II construction – the remodeling of the 9,000 sq. ft. space. We’ll continue to share with you ongoing updates all the way till the end on our Facebook page and our Building Updates page of the website.
We are thankful to our community, our partners, our staff, and you for your support throughout the past year. Your advocacy and donations help us greatly as we continue to fulfill our mission of providing superior care.
Best wishes,
Michael
Clinic Launches Just in Time Scheduling
On June 1st, The Family Counseling Center moved to a Just in Time scheduling system. Just in Time means that clients with medication needs now have the ability and responsibility to call and make their own appointments. Our Just in Time system allows clients to schedule an appointment that works best for them, in a timely way and allows our staff to see more clients because the missed appointments will be freed up. The goal is to be more open, flexible, and client friendly. The change will mean increased personal responsibility for making and keeping appointments.

A look at our Domestic Violence Program
In 2020, The Family Counseling Center’s Domestic Violence Program worked with 218 clients and had over 3,600 client contacts. Recently, we updated our program’s information and advocacy sheet.
The Domestic Violence Program provides free and confidential services to all individuals affected by domestic violence. The goal of the program is to empower victims and survivors, assist them in regaining control of their lives, and ultimately move toward healing. Our staff advocates on behalf of domestic violence victims and survivors while working in conjunction with other agencies to provide additional assistance.
