The Drop-In Center at TFCC aims to provide support to community members seeking an entryway to mental health care. The program allows individuals to address their most immediate mental-health concerns through Solutions-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a goal-directed therapeutic approach that focuses on solutions rather than problems.
The Drop-In Center is:
- Open to all – Individuals can come without appointments or long wait-times.
- Solution-Focused – Counselors use SFBT to create a goal-oriented plan to address the individual’s immediate mental health concerns.
- Collaborative – Clients and counselors work together to identify issues of concern and finding solutions.
- Strengths-Based – Counselors work to recognize the client’s strengths and resources rather than solely focusing on problems.
- Time-Limited – The number of sessions a client undertakes are limited. The therapy focuses on creating change in the present and near future rather than on-going care.
- Follow-Up and Referral – Depending on the client’s needs, the counselor may refer them for ongoing support through our Behavioral Health Clinic.
The Drop-In Center at TFCC works with clients to feel empowered in their mental health journey, providing them with the tools to become more self-reliant and resourceful when facing challenges. Counselors and clients celebrate small successes and overall progress toward the client’s goals.
