Founded in 1976, The Family Counseling Center is a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic that delivers a wide range of integrated services, including mental health care, substance abuse treatment, crisis response, and support under a model that emphasizes whole-person care, ensuring that individuals and families receive the support they need to thrive.
FIFTY YEARS AGO, the need was access. Today, it’s access, scale, and coordination. While the landscape has changed, our commitment to compassionate, community-based care has not.
Over the past 50 years, the behavioral needs of our community have grown in both scale and complexity. What was once a more limited demand for outpatient counseling has evolved into a need for comprehensive, coordinated care that addresses mental health, substance use, crisis intervention, and long-term support.
Today, individuals and families are navigating increased stressors – from economic instability and housing challenges to the lasting impacts of trauma and isolation. More children and adolescents are seeking services earlier, while adults are presenting with more complex and co-occurring needs.
At the same time, expectations around access have shifted. Timely care, integrated services, and continuity of support are no longer aspirational -they are essential.
The Family Counseling Center has revolved alongside these changes, expanding services and strengthening its approach to meet the realities of today while remaining grounded in its original mission.
