December 2021 Newsletter
A note from our Executive Director
Oh what a year it’s been!
As December quickly counts down and 2021 draws to a close, I wanted to take a few moments to reflect on all that has happened this year.
First and foremost, I’d like to thank our staff or all the work they have done. Our team maintained their high quality of work as the office environment itself changed. We started 2021 working from home, then transitioned to a hybrid model, and by March we began to welcome staff into the Phase-I section of our building. Throughout it all, our team continued to see clients and now hosts in-person sessions daily.
Speaking of the building, in January work was still happening on the Phase-I 18,500 sq. ft. addition and I write to you from my office in the Administrative Wing (Phase-II) of the completed project. Today, we have 27,500 sq. ft. of space – including three conference rooms, an Events Center, Crisis Wing, and enough offices to fit all of our staff. Our Medical Clinic (along with an on-site pharmacy run by Genoa Healthcare) is due to open in January.
We have also increased our outreach. Just the other week, the Leader Herald featured our Mobile Crisis Unit (link here) along with Spectrum News (link here). We also participated in our first-ever #GivingTuesday. You may have also received our year-end fundraising in the mail recently as well.
2021 was a year of sharing messages of what we do and how we impact the communities in which we work and we look forward to the stories we will tell in the coming year.
Finally, I want to thank you for all that you have done to help us throughout this year. You may have given us a donation to aid in the building project. You may have donated your time as a Board Member, or been an advocate for us in the community, a partner as we work to create healthy lives for our clients, or just read and shared our Facebook posts. Thank you today, tomorrow, and always for your support of The Family Counseling Center.
Happy Holidays,
Michael

We are nearly there!
Over the last three years, The Family Counseling Center has been acutely focused on our major building and renovation project and it is nearly complete!
We are happy to share with you a few photos of the process – from clearing the site to where we are today.
