Our staff are our treasure – and so is downtown Gloversville!
On Tuesday, July 27, 2021, The Family Counseling Center hosted an organization-wide staff engagement day. The event saw over 60 staff members sent on a treasure hunt throughout downtown Gloversville – visiting local businesses and landmarks.
Stops included the First Congregational United Church of Christ, where the organization was founded in 1976 by a group of dedicated volunteers. Other locations were Rossbach Shoes, East Witchery, True Value, Helping Hands Charity Shop, 47 Marketplace, Mohawk Harvest Cooperative Market, Fulton County Barbershop, Gloversville Public Library, SW Spa, Adventure Books & More, Jimmy’s Deli, and Stewart’s Shop. Stops also included local landmarks such as Trail Station Park, the Lucius Littauer statue, and more. Upon their return, staff were given a surprise reward presented by Michael Countryman, the organization’s Executive Director and Michael Schaus, President of the Board of Directors.
“We wanted to recognize and celebrate our employees while also recognizing and celebrating the place we have called home for the last 45 years,” said Michael Countryman, the organization’s Executive Director. “Our success and growth are because of the team members we have and the community in which we work.”
