May 7th is National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day
May 7, 2021 marks National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day and we are happy to highlight the work clients do every day to Build a Healthy Community for their children and their families.
The last year has brought increased awareness and dialogue about the importance of mental health – for ourselves, our families, and our children. Professionals, press, and individuals have relayed the impact COVID-19 restrictions have placed on the overall mental wellbeing of children across the county.

We are honored that a recent project at Gloversville’s Boulevard Elementary School called the Kindness Garden selected the Family Counseling Center to be recognized and thanked for the work we’ve done for the community throughout the pandemic. According to the school, “The students decorated flowers and wrote letters that contributed to [the] art installation.”
